Biology and Sustainable Agriculture

Wisconsin Fast Plant Project
Students will investigate cellular functions, DNA and protein synthesis, cross pollination, soil and water quality, genetics, and other aspects of microbiology as they grow these fast growing plants.

Comparative Anatomy Pig Dissection
Students will apply semester concepts of homeostasis, sustainable agriculture, and gene expression to explore comparative anatomy and diversity of food availability

CDFW Trout in the Classroom project
Students will explore ecology, environmental sciences, human impact, evolution and other aspects of macrobiology as they raise rainbow trout eggs to fry. Once the trout are old enough, we release them in a local waterway.

Career and Engineering Project
Students will apply semester concepts of human impact, water quality, and environmental responsibility to a science and engineering career-based project. Projects vary year by year, but examples include: Water sanitation projects, Environmental Clean Up Projects, and Drone Career Research.
